Is The Philippines ready for medical tourism (MT), or are her Asian neighbors ready to embrace her as friendly competitor in best MT destination?
Yes, The Philippines is ready. Oo. Opo. Handang-handa na ang Pilipinas.
No, The Philippines is not ready. Hindi pa handa ang Pilipinas.
Maybe Yes, Maybe No. Siguro? Marahil?
Health, Tourism, Trade and Industry programs for MT are yet to synchronize. Watak ang mga programa.
Synergy of purpose and action by big and small MT players is the way to go. Magkaisa na.
Neighboring Asia is ready to embrace The Philippines as friendly competitor in MT. Ok lang.
Who cares (Care bears)? Malay namin; pakialam namin.
Let's pray for the "dot-com in the worldwideweb map" fondly called The Philippines. Manalangin tayo.
God bless us all! Pagpalain tayong lahat sa Asya ng Dakilang Lumikha.

KUALA LUMPUR - Over a hundred CEOs of global healthcare came to the First Medical Travel World
Congress 2008 put up by Maggie Tan’s new Singapore-based conference organizing company, Magenta
Global Pte Ltd, at Crowne Plaza Mutiara (meaning,
Pearl, in the  Bahasa language) in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia, from the 25th thru the 28th of February 2008.

Malaysian datos together with their health and tourism ministries in full force led the dignitaries who
graced the ‘molding’ event that Catherina-Jessie Koh, Helen Lee et al had helped make successful for the
next trillion-dollar world medical travel industry, and for the invest in Malaysia campaigns of the
government in KL.

Amidst the academia-tranquil atmosphere that prevailed throughout the congress, with the presentation
of dizzying figures and white papers by global healthcare experts, but well-researched and
well-thought-out, on the wherefores, why’s and how-come’s of medical travel in a number of major MT
desti
nations, a Filipino doctor stirred debate in the final hours over the burning issues
of “evidence-based” versus “experience-based” gauges of expertise and of track records of quality
services in hospitals, medical clinics or medical centers as against those in health spas.
